The Charity and Solidarity Foundation

The Charity and Solidarity Foundation was established in Turkey in accordance with the provisions of the Turkish Civil Code dated 4121 21.08.1970 Official Gazette dated 21.08.1970. Its mission is to support socially and economically disadvantaged groups and people who have suffered from natural disasters, wars and other social disasters; to reduce poverty and to create decent living environments.

The foundation initially obtained legal status in 2015 under the name “Kardeşlik ve İnsanlık Toplum İçin Aslolandır Vakfı” (Fraternity and Humanity is Essential for Society Foundation). In 2017, it was renamed ” Sevgi ve Kardeşlik Vakfı” (Charity and Solidarity Foundation). Since that time, it has operated as a civil society organization with its headquarters in Istanbul. In Turkey, the organization is known as the “Sevgi ve Kardeşlik Vakfı,” which can be translated as the “Sevkar Foundation.” Internationally, it is recognized as the “Charity and Solidarity Foundation.”

Since 2015, the foundation has provided direct support in addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants in the fields of health, education, and social cohesion. Furthermore, it has offered legal counseling and facilitated access to protection mechanisms for these groups, serving both in Istanbul and Hatay.

The Charity and Solidarity Foundation is overseen by a Board of Trustees comprising 24 voluntary philanthropists, a Board of Directors made up of 5 members, and a Supervisory Board of 3 members. Since its establishment, the foundation has continued its activities with love and a spirit of solidarity, thanks to the collaboration between the Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors, and the dedicated team carrying out its mission.
